The first monograph on the famous transoceanic steamer REX in the Slovenian language.
The book about the Italian ocean liner REX, which ran aground between Izola and Koper during the Second World War and sank there as a result of being shot down, is a picturesque monograph; rich in content with documentary and photographic material, it tells stories by itself.
The myth of the sunken ship REX is presented through a three-layered story; it talks about the time of rise and shine, when the REX was the fastest and largest Italian ocean liner, the bombing and collapse in the Bay of Koper, and the revived memory, which was already part of the high-profile exhibition of the Maritime Museum "Sergej Masera" Piran from 2008, but is still strongly also anchored in the collective consciousness of the inhabitants of coastal cities, which is also reflected in the narratives in the book.
